MY BACKGROUND AND COACHING STORY

I am a CTA Certified Coach and former elementary school educator. I hold a B.A. in creative writing from the University of Colorado at Boulder and advanced degree in education from the University of California at Santa Barbara. I am also certified in premediation coaching and as a New Ways for Families coach by Bill Eddy's High Conflict Institute.

Additionally, I am the author of "A New Special Friend," a book to help kids and their divorced parents navigate the tender stage of introducing new romantic partners to the family. I have been a guest on numerous podcasts like Divorce Doesn't Suck,  Split: The Ever After Podcast, and WTF Divorce Parenting. I've written many guest blogs and magazine articles discussing both coparenting and "A New Special Friend."

Having spent over a decade in the field of education before turning to coaching full-time, I am no stranger to helping people learn new skills. I could go on and on about my educational background, but really, I am an effective coach because I am LIVING IT. I've been where you are, I'm going where you are going.

I like to say I am helping people co-parent without blame, shame, or games because I specialize in working with single parents and blended families. And while each family is unique, these truths are important for all of them.

Co-parenting is not the whole picture, though. The reason why I love this line of work is because I am passionate about helping people get out of their own way and on to the path of happiness and success. Seeing people blossom and grow no matter what their relationship issues have been is the greatest gift in the world!

When I separated after a long marriage, it was the first time in my adult life that I had to look in the mirror and find my own direction. I also had to look after my son in the way that nurtured him the most. I turned to coaching to help guide me in the decisions that best served me and my family.

Along the way, I learned (and am still learning!) valuable lessons about communication, balance, and creating room in my life for prosperity and success. Coaching was a lifeline in getting me centered and back on a path that truly made me happy, and it can do the same for you.

Are you ready to change how you interact with your co-parent? With the world? How about with your own self? Give me a holler!
